More traffic enforcement cameras are expected to become operational before the end of the year as the Guyana Police Force continues to expand the use of automated systems to monitor roadways and curb dangerous driving.

The force has been moving steadily toward technology-based enforcement, arguing that cameras offer a consistent way to catch speeding, red-light running and other violations that officers cannot always observe in person.
