JPMorgan Chase has named Mark Fiteny and Matt Gehl as co-heads of its international technology investment banking business. The move expands the roles of two established bankers who currently run tech coverage in Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Fiteny will keep his base in Hong Kong, where he has led the firm's technology banking efforts across Asia-Pacific. Gehl, who has overseen the EMEA technology team from London, will also stay in his current location. Together they will coordinate cross-border dealmaking for tech clients, with a focus on software, internet, and fintech companies that operate globally.
The appointment comes as JPMorgan looks to strengthen its position in technology M&A and capital raising outside the United States. International tech deals have picked up in recent quarters, especially in areas like artificial intelligence infrastructure and cloud services, where clients need advice on complex cross-border transactions.
Both bankers have long histories at the firm. Fiteny joined JPMorgan more than a decade ago and has worked on some of the largest tech listings and acquisitions in Asia. Gehl has been with the bank since 2010, advising European software and payments firms on mergers and public offerings.
In their new roles, they will report to the heads of global technology investment banking and will work closely with sector teams in the U.S. The bank said the change is effective immediately, though no further details on team structure or reporting lines were provided.
