NANTICOKE — Luzerne County Community College’s newly established Career & Technology Academy aims to challenge the misconception that students excelling in skilled trades lack a pathway to higher education. LCCC President John Yudichak emphasized the importance of this initiative during a recent announcement, highlighting the academy's role in bridging the gap between vocational training and college opportunities.
The academy is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in various technical fields while also offering academic courses that can lead to college credits. This dual approach not only equips students with essential skills but also prepares them for further education in a supportive environment.
Yudichak noted that the academy will serve as a vital resource for local students, fostering a culture of learning that values both academic and technical achievements. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of skilled trades in today’s economy, encouraging students to pursue their passions without feeling limited by traditional educational pathways.
