In a bid to enhance the learning experience for students, Jefferson Principal Heather Wittenauer has submitted a grant proposal to the Sterling Schools Foundation. The proposal seeks funding to acquire smart boards for classrooms, with each board estimated to cost around $2,400.
Wittenauer emphasizes the importance of integrating technology into education, noting that "technology is where kids are zoned in." The initiative aims to provide teachers with innovative tools to engage students more effectively and foster a dynamic learning environment. Smart boards offer interactive features that can significantly enhance lessons, making them more relatable and enjoyable for young learners.
The funding from the Sterling Schools Foundation would not only help in purchasing these smart boards but also support the overall goal of modernizing educational resources within the district. As schools increasingly recognize the role of technology in education, Wittenauer's proposal reflects a commitment to preparing students for a future where digital literacy is essential.
