PwC has begun integrating Anthropic's AI assistant Claude into its client services, using the technology to help build new systems, support deal execution, and reshape core business operations. The move marks one of the larger deployments of a third-party large language model within a major professional services firm.
According to people familiar with the arrangement, PwC is leveraging Claude across multiple practice areas. In dealmaking, the AI is being used to accelerate due diligence, draft transaction documents, and flag potential risks in merger agreements. On the technology side, consultants are using Claude to generate code, test software, and design system architectures for clients undergoing digital transformations.
The firm is also applying the model to reinvent enterprise functions like finance, human resources, and supply chain management. In practice, this means Claude helps automate repetitive tasks, summarize complex data, and generate reports that would otherwise require hours of manual work.
PwC has been expanding its use of generative AI tools over the past year. The partnership with Anthropic gives the firm access to Claude's safety features and its ability to handle long documents with high accuracy. PwC has also trained its own staff on how to use the model responsibly, including how to review outputs for errors and bias.
Anthropic, based in San Francisco, has positioned Claude as a safer alternative to other AI models. The company focuses on building systems that are reliable, interpretable, and steerable. PwC's deployment suggests that large professional services firms see value in using such models not just for internal efficiency, but as a direct tool for client-facing work.
The scope of the rollout is still unfolding. PwC has not disclosed specific revenue targets or the number of client engagements involving Claude. But the firm's leadership has signaled that AI is becoming central to how it delivers services.
