In a strategic shift, Ennostar Corp. is repurposing its advanced Micro LED technology, moving beyond high-end displays to address a critical bottleneck inside the racks powering the artificial intelligence boom. The company is targeting the short-distance data transmission links between servers and switches within a single rack, a domain currently dominated by copper cables and traditional optics.
The initiative aims to leverage the inherent speed and efficiency advantages of Micro LEDs for optical communication. Ennostar's goal is to dramatically increase data transfer rates for these internal connections, pushing from a current 1.25 gigabits per second (Gbps) to a target range of 3-4 Gbps. This leap in bandwidth is seen as essential for next-generation AI data centers, where processing units require immense, uninterrupted flows of data.
To bring this vision to market, Ennostar is actively collaborating with international partners to co-develop complete module solutions. These modules are designed to enable high-speed, reliable, and energy-efficient optical interconnects directly within server racks. The company has set a clear timeline for this innovation, targeting 2026 for achieving its speed milestones and commercial readiness. This move positions Ennostar at the intersection of two cutting-edge fields: compound semiconductors and the infrastructure underpinning advanced artificial intelligence.
